Welcome to DigNotes ("DigNotes", "we", "our", or "us"), a personal life-management application developed by Dig Nepal Technologies. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how DigNotes collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our mobile application (the "App").
By installing or using DigNotes, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy and agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
A. Personal & Account Information
- Account credentials: When you sign up or sign in using Email/Password or Google Sign-In, we may collect your name, email address, profile picture URL, and unique Firebase user identifier (UID).
- Authentication data: Authentication credentials and tokens are handled by Google Firebase Authentication. DigNotes does not receive or store your password in plaintext.
B. User-Generated Data & Content
Depending on the features you use, DigNotes may store:
- Notes & content: Text notes, titles, tags, formatting, and related content.
- Tasks & reminders: Task titles, descriptions, subtasks, due dates, reminder times, recurrence information, and category tags.
- Calendar & events: Event names, descriptions, dates, times, locations, participants, and related reminders.
- Lists: Grocery, shopping, and other checklist items, including quantities, units, estimated/actual prices, notes, and completion status.
- Financial records: Income, expenses, bills, money lent, money borrowed, repayments, parties/people associated with transactions, and related activity records.
- Shared records: If collaboration features are used, information about people or DigNotes users associated with tasks, reminders, events, lists, or financial records may be stored as necessary to provide those features.
C. Device & Technical Information
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token: Device tokens used to deliver push notifications and reminder alerts.
- Device details: Device model, operating system version, time zone, and language preferences where available and required for app functionality.
- Notification preferences: Settings related to reminders, notifications, vibration, and alert behavior.
- Audio & TTS settings: Local text-to-speech narration preferences, such as voice/pitch/speed settings, where supported. Audio narration is synthesized locally on your device unless a feature explicitly states otherwise.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Cloud synchronization: Synchronizing notes, tasks, reminders, events, lists, and financial records across authenticated devices.
- Notifications & alarms: Delivering reminders, alerts, invitations, and notifications you request or enable.
- Account and activity features: Associating records and activity history with your account and, where collaboration is used, identifying participating users.
- App functionality & customization: Saving preferences such as theme, language, notification behavior, and voice narration settings.
- Security and reliability: Protecting the service, enforcing access controls, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining reliable operation.
3. Third-Party Services & Infrastructure
DigNotes uses trusted third-party infrastructure providers to operate the App. These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and service terms.
- Google Firebase Authentication: account authentication and identity management.
- Google Cloud Firestore: cloud database storage and synchronization.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): push notification delivery.
- Firebase Storage: storage of supported user-uploaded files or media where the feature is used.
- Google Play Services: Android platform services and APIs where applicable.

4. Data Security & Storage
- User isolation: Personal records are organized under authenticated user-specific data paths and protected using Firebase security controls.
- Access control: Users are intended to access only their own private records and records explicitly shared with them through supported collaboration features.
- Encryption in transit: Data transmitted between the App and supported Firebase services is protected using industry-standard transport encryption such as TLS.
- Encryption at rest: Google Cloud/Firebase services provide encryption at rest for supported stored data.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information handled by DigNotes.
5. Data Retention & Account Deletion
Retention
We retain your account and associated data for as long as your account remains active, unless a different retention period is required by law or necessary for legitimate security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or backup purposes.
Account & Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data:
- Through Profile & Settings → Delete Account in the App, where available; or
- By emailing dignepaltechnologies@gmail.com with the subject Data Deletion Request.
After appropriate verification, we will process the deletion request and remove associated personal records from active systems, subject to applicable legal requirements and limited backup retention periods where applicable.
6. Children's Privacy
DigNotes is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent where required by applicable law. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected inappropriately, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to DigNotes, our practices, or applicable requirements. When we make changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this policy and publish the revised policy within the App or on our designated website.
